Dianna R. Robertson

Dianna has extensive experience working with seriously injured plaintiffs, and she has a particular interest in spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and medical malpractice.  She has appeared as Counsel before the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia.  Dianna is also a Mediator with the rosters of Mediate BC and the Law Society of BC.

Dianna’s unique advantage in representing injured people stems from her extensive education and experience in the field of rehabilitation.  Dianna obtained a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta in 1992.  She subsequently went on to obtain a Research Masters Degree from Dalhousie University.  Prior to her legal career, Dianna worked as a rehabilitation consultant for ICBC, Insurance Companies, Defense Lawyers and Plaintiff Lawyers.  She has provided expert witness testimony in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal.

Dianna’s research has been published in several peer reviewed scientific journals.  Dianna currently authors a quarterly column called “Ethics in Action” which is published by a professional association representing rehabilitation specialists. She lectures on a regular basis in the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Occupational Therapy program. 

Dianna resides in Vancouver with her husband and their dog Molly.  The couple have two adult children and two amazing grandchildren.  Dianna enjoys long distance running, cross country skiing, rudimentary ballet, and eating chocolate (not necessarily in that order).

Ratib Islam

Ratib joined the firm in 2018.   Ratib has a mixed practice in insurance defence and personal injury.  Ratib has experience conducting trials on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants at the Supreme Court of British Columbia.  He obtained his law degree from the University of Victoria.  Ratib has volunteered at Access Pro Bono and assisted clients with criminal, employment, and contract matters in legal clinics in Edmonton, Vancouver, and Victoria.  Ratib is also a trial supervising lawyer for UBC Law Students Legal Advice Program.
 
Prior to obtaining a law degree, Ratib completed his Bachelor’s of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of British Columbia.  Ratib conducted research in biochemical laboratories, published in a scientific journal, and gave educational presentations on medical research to the public. 

Ratib resides in North Vancouver with his wife. In his spare time, Ratib enjoys playing tennis and eating dessert. ​
